Club Information

The Alde & Ore Wildfowlers Association was formed in 1991 as an amalgamation of the Leiston & District and the Aldeburgh Wildfowlers’ associations. The club has around 100 members, many of whom live locally. However, there is no geographical restriction on membership.

All members are required to pass a wildfowl recognition test before they are granted full membership status. Marsh walks and work parties are arranged in order to provide new members with the opportunity to learn the boundaries of the various shooting areas.

Club membership includes membership of the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, to which the club is affiliated. All members thus carry full public liability insurance.

The club welcomes full members as well as junior/student members and non-shooting associate members.

The club is run by a committee which meets monthly. Regular general meetings are held throughout the year at the Benhall Ex-Servicemen’s club. All members are encouraged to attend theses meetings. An Annual General Meeting is held in April.

Members are required to submit an annual bag return whether or not they visit the club marshes or are successful in their wildfowling activity.
